The method DanceOM©, developed and registered by Geneviéve Louise in 2020, is an approach todance therapy aimed at the liberation of the being, also releasing emotions that are unbalanced or not, in order to cultivate a healthier emotional balance and give space to love and Being. This DanceOM© method seeks to create an environment where individuals can express themselves without judgment, allowing them to be authentic and true to themselves. The nameOM comes from the first sound emitted at the creation of the universe, which we also sing for meditation, ॐ means union of the 5 elements, earth, fire, water, air and ether, strengthening our connection with the Divine Universal Principle.  We are nature, we are the elements, we feel emotions through these elements and this method aims to go through these stages by working on awareness of the body, heart and movement, bringing more release, well-being, awareness, relaxation, self-awareness self-knowledge and self-love. Its principles are the benefits of dance and how it can be therapeutic, all led by music and guided by a Dance Therapist.

COMO FUNCIONA?

It is not necessary to have dancing skills, as these are not choreographed movements but rather free and spontaneous movements, guided by creativity and personal sensation. The movements flow according to the rhythm of the music, being also guided by the dance therapist who will be observing emotions and body language. If someone is experiencing a blockage, the dance therapist can intervene, helping with creativity and fluidity by offering guidance to facilitate body expression.


The steps described below are led by the facilitator:

  1. Experience - EARTH Element:

    • Connection with the inner self through dance and music.

    • Meditation focused on breathing.

    • Movements to connect with the earth and one's own being.

  2. Transformation - FIRE Element:

    • Deepening relationships in the group.

    • Exercises in empathy and vulnerability.

    • Active meditation to overcome judgments.

    • Authentic expression through dance and art.

  3. Emotion - WATER Element:

    • Fluid movements and emotional expressions.

    • Release of emotions without judgment.

    • Music and fluid movements facilitate release.

  4. Liberation - AR Element:

    • Light and expansive movements.

    • Exploration of the body and interactions with the group.

    • Fun games to celebrate life.

    • Emphasis on breathing for well-being.

  5. Serenity - ETHER Element:

    • Slow and serene movements.

    • Liberation of being

    • Connection with inner energy.

    • Deep relaxation and peace.

ODanceOM© Method utilizes these elements to promote healing, authentic expression, and well-being through dance, music, and group interaction, culminating in an experience of serenity and spiritual connection.
